“Bommai Nayagi” is the latest Tamil movie to suffer from online piracy on the notorious torrent website, Tamilrockers. Released on February 3, 2023, the movie features popular actor Yogi Babu and an ensemble cast including Harikrishnan Anbudurai, G M Kumar, Subatra, Srimathi and others.
Directed by Shan, the rural drama received widespread praise from audiences and critics alike. Despite its critical success, the film was swiftly leaked on various torrent websites, including Tamilrockers, 1Tamilmv, Tamilblasters, Tamilplay, Movierulz and more.
Unfortunately, “Bommai Nayagi” is not the only recent movie to fall victim to piracy on its release day, as other films such as “Naan Kadavul Illai”, “Thalaikoothal”, “The Great Indian Kitchen”, “Iratta” and “Michael” have suffered the same fate. It is only by curbing the use of piracy that it can be effectively tackled.
The release of the movie on OTT platforms will be announced soon. Typically, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks for a film to be available on online platforms. Reports suggest that ZEE5 has acquired the streaming rights for this film.
